The self-appointed Mayor of Journaltown.
I'm on a mission to teach the craft of journaling, so you can:
What journaling students are saying:
"I really enjoyed the course. I came in with the expectation of just practicing my writing every day, but the prompts challenged me in ways I did not expect."
"The prompts gave me a back door into my own psyche, allowing my self-awareness and wisdom to bubble up naturally."
"I want more!"

This 21-day journaling journey guides you to establish a lasting journaling habit one day at a time.
$88
This carefully crafted 21-day experience guides you from simple starting exercises to profound personal discoveries. Unlike most journaling approaches that leave you staring at a blank page, this program provides expertly designed prompts that build upon each other to gently unlock your wisdom.
"The prompts were extremely helpful, much more than I expected." - Sylvia V.

Each day for 21 days, you'll receive in your inbox:
WEEK 1 - Orientation. Warm up to the practice with simple, grounding writing prompts.
WEEK 2 - Access. Tune into your inner world and hear yourself clearly.
WEEK 3 - Tools. Try out journaling strategies from a range of teachers to find what fits you best.
Whether you're picking up a journal for the first time or returning to the practice, this experience will expand your possibilities. We'll explore a variety of journaling approaches, from creative and open-ended exercises to targeted tools for calming stress, processing challenges, and boosting motivation.
"I am amazed to (re)discover the grounding and perspective-altering power of journaling."
- Yvette P.
"I was quite surprised about the insights and new perspective I gained."
- Patricia F.
"I really liked how some prompts spoke to each other and how some days build over the others. The connections were brilliant."
- Sujata S.
"My biggest take-away is how different journaling is with prompts than the stream-of-consciousness, 'morning pages' style of journaling I've done most of my life. It's helped me get more specific in reflection and the specificity has led to clarity on a number of issues."
- Kerry Ann R.
"At first, I thought the challenge would be a great way to get me started on my creative writing skill building project/goals - 15 minutes of attempting to let loose and free write every day. I've come to appreciate that it can be and do a lot more than that, including bringing greater clarity, anxiety management (and dream activation!)."
-Vanessa P.
"I learned that the subconscious has so much to share and tapping into it could often bring up insights, answers to questions and plans of action to forward my research."
-Rashida B.

I’m hosting a free, one-hour Start Your Journal workshop on
Saturday, January 10 at 11am Eastern.
All are welcome. Register here.
Journaling — writing for your own eyes only — is a powerful, immediately accessible practice that has been shown to substantially improve both mental and physical health with just a few brief (10-15 minute) sessions per week.
In addition to:
Journaling also initiates a cascade of health-promoting processes that:
Anyone can unlock these benefits with just a pen and paper.

The Journaling On-Ramp is an on-demand, 21-day course. You can begin the moment you purchase with the "first steps" you'll receive in your inbox. Day 1 will arrive the next morning, with one guided prompt per day for 21 days.
Yes. While the course is on-demand, I’m a real person on the other side of these emails.
If you reply to any prompt with a question, reflection, or stuck point, I’ll read it, and I’ll respond. January Workshop: I am also hosting a free "Start Your Journal" workshop on January 10, 2026. Drop in to journal together and ask your questions live: REGISTER.
Each of the 21 daily prompts is designed to be completed in 10 minutes. That's it. Set your timer and write. You'll be amazed at what happens in just this short increment.
Don't worry about it. You do not need to complete every session to receive the benefits — in fact the most-researched protocol involves journaling just 3 days a week. Feel free to come back to any prompts you missed later, or to move through the 21 lessons at whatever pace works for you.
Journaling is for your eyes only. There are no rules, and you don't need special talents. "Good writing" (however defined) doesn't matter when you're writing for yourself, just like you don't need public speaking skills for intimate conversations. I have designed the lessons to be extremely beginner-friendly. You will not get writer's block.
Notebooks today attract less attention than phones and computers, but if privacy is a strong concern, write what you're comfortable writing — or write what you like and then rip it up. You can think of your journals as first drafts of your thoughts. You don't need to keep them in order to benefit from the process.
One journaler I interviewed spoke about this issue, and how it turned out that even when he was cautious about what he actually wrote down, he was still able to see and understand himself more clearly: "I did worry, back then, that my journal would be read, so I remember self-censoring quite a bit. But even if I didn’t write the thought down, at least it made it to my conscious mind at that moment. It still brought clarity."
Just a notebook and pen. Writing longhand has documented benefits, but participants who prefer typing are welcome to use the digital tool of their choice.
Yes. You will receive the prompts by email. You will also receive a printable PDF overview at the end of the program.
